For Better or Verse poetry and open mic night will celebrate its first anniversary of quality poetry and spoken word with a little acoustic music thrown in to lighten up the event. The night of poetry tagged “Find Your Inner Poet” will be headlined by multiple award-winning author and performance poet, Tolu’ A. Akinyemi.

In announcing the event, Tolu’ said, “It’s a New Year and still the same old, undiluted gospel of poetry. Delighted to announce that I will headline “For Better or Verse” Poetry and Open Mic Night at Blackhill Club, Consett.”

The event is scheduled to hold on Friday 24th January 2025 by 7pm.
