My family house is a house of flying daggers,

of rivalries and bitter wars that eat deep, scarring every memory.

Some say blood is thicker than water.

Turn it on its head and say water is thicker than blood.

Last week, three strangers walked in through the back door.

Today, they hoisted our family’s banner with pride.
